Isaiah 1:17 states: "Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause." As an adoption agency, America World wants orphan advocates to really appreciate the importance of being proactive in how they think about caring for orphans, and not simply reactive. Your support of the Isaiah 1:17 Fund will assist in bringing justice to fatherless children through the work that America World is already committed to doing:

Orphanage Support

America World is dedicated to meeting every child’s human right to a family. However, we recognize that this takes time, and most children spend several years living in orphanages in their home country. Our commitment to the care of these children begins long before they are matched with a family, which is why America World provides basic humanitarian aid to our partner orphanages. Your donation will help provide basic life necessities to children waiting to come home.

Diaper Duty

Did you know... if every baby in the world used a disposable diaper, that would mean that 1,357 million would be used every single day? That's a lot of diapers!

However, the reality is that all children aren't using diapers and don't have access to this essential hygienic product. We are collecting donations for diapers so that children living in orphanages in China and our transition home in Ethiopia can have clean, comfortable bottoms.

Haiti Food Pantry

Last month we learned of a very specific and urgent need to help children who had recently been without food for 4 days. As we looked into the need, unfortunately we learned that this is not an isolated issue and that orphanages all around Port-au-Prince are in need of basic supplies & resources on a daily basis. We knew that there was something more we could do once we had helped meet the immediate need for food at this one orphanage. Last month America World launched the Haiti Food Pantry Fund to provide food support to the orphanages in need. With a simple request, we soon had the AWAA family, friends, contacts and others who were asking, “how can we help?” The response has been incredible! We hoped that we would be able to meet some needs as we heard of them arising, specifically crisis situations that would allow an orphanage to make a more long term plan. Thousands of meals will be able to be distributed to children throughout Port-au-Prince. Thank you for your donation to providing for the children of Haiti.

Haiti Play Room

A mission team leaving for Haiti in the next two weeks posed a simple question to an orphanage in need: “What do the children need? How can we help?” Their answer was quite simple, really. It’s something most of us take for granted. They want a play room for the children; a bright, cheerful room with toys that stimulate the imagination and provide opportunities for interactive play. This orphanage is home to over 100 children, many of them being toddlers who would benefit greatly as they play in a space that is made just for them!

We need your help to make this play room happen! Paint, painting supplies, toys, and floor mats need to be purchased to bring this dream to reality. Due to the size of the toys and the nature of the project supplies needed, the team will purchase the items in Haiti, to ease logistics while supporting the local economy.

Become an Orphan Advocate

Since 1994, America World has placed over 3,000 orphans from 13 different countries in their God-ordained families. Orphan Advocates are important partners in this mission. In whatever capacity you feel called to be involved with advocating on behalf of orphaned and vulnerable children, America World wants to support and encourage you in reaching your goal(s) through our orphan advocacy initiatives – each of which is designed to support orphaned children and families considering adoption.
