America World operates a transition home for children who are in the process of being matched with families for adoption are. America World also partners with many orphanages in Ethiopia. It will be these areas in which our missions teams will travel and minister to children.

Trip Description: Our teams will be serving on many projects for the America World Transitional Home and working with the numerous orphanages which partner with AWA in Ethiopia.

Meet the Team Leader, Cindy Douglass:
Hi, my name is Cindy Douglass and I will be leading my third team to Ethiopia through America World’s Storyteller Mission department on July 22, 2016. My family and I call Raleigh, NC home, but are originally from East Tennessee. Go Big Orange!! I have been married to my husband Drew for 17 years and we have two boys, Lucas and Owen.

Ethiopia holds a very special place in my heart and is a country rich in history and culture. Immense massive poverty you will find people who have more joy than you can imagine. Why is that? I think there is something to be learned from that and I’m excited to share it with you.

My family is currently in the Ethiopia program with the hope of one day bringing our daughter home from there. I have had the opportunity to go on many mission trips, and it was during one of my trips to Haiti that God called our family to adoption. It is one of God’s greatest commandments that we love God’s people, especially his little ones and to tell them they are loved and special, they are not forgotten, and that there is a plan for their life. If you can love children, enjoy playing and having fun and want to be the hands and feet of Christ in a tangible way then please consider joining me.

During our time in Ethiopia we will be spending our days serving at America World’s transition homes and partnering orphanages as well as seeing the history of Ethiopia. I promise you that your life will forever be changed and you will be blessed immeasurable more than you can imagine.
